What Ownership Is Really Like
The grinder makes the station convenient, not automatic
Beans feed directly into the portafilter, reducing counter clutter. Timed or preset dosing should be checked with a scale because bean density, grind setting and hopper level change output. A dosing funnel controls scatter but cannot distribute the puck.
A 58mm basket rewards careful preparation
The broad basket supports common accessories and a shallower puck. Break up clumps, distribute to the edges, tamp level and clear the rim. The pump rating cannot correct channeling or an overloaded basket.
Dialing in is an ongoing ownership task
Keep dose and target yield stable, change grind gradually and allow retained grounds to clear after adjustments. Beans need finer settings as they age. Switching between regular and decaf creates carryover unless the hopper is run low and the chute purged.
The large tank supports household rounds
At about 2.3 liters, the reservoir reduces mid-session refills. Grinding, flushing, hot water and steaming still make several drinks a sequential process. Refresh water rather than topping it indefinitely and keep clearance for removing the hopper and tank.
Milk remains fully manual
Purge condensation, introduce air briefly and roll the milk to integrate foam. Wipe and purge immediately. Integrated grinding speeds puck setup, but it does not turn cappuccino into a one-touch drink.
The grinder must stay dry
Remove beans before deep cleaning, brush the burrs and chute and never introduce water into the grinding path. Oily coffee increases residue and retention. The wet brew system, by contrast, needs rinsing and mineral management.
Daily and periodic care are different jobs
Rinse basket and portafilter, flush the group, wipe the gasket, empty the tray and clean the wand after milk. Brush the grinder separately and descale according to hardness. No single cleaning cycle covers all three zones.
Counter space is consolidated rather than tiny
The machine is roughly 12 inches wide and over 16 inches tall in the represented configuration. Add room for a scale, knock box and pitcher and enough vertical access for beans and water.
Who will enjoy it
ECMI0 fits a buyer wanting a unified fresh-bean workstation and standard-size accessories. It is less suitable for frequent bean switching, automated milk or someone who wants to upgrade grinder and brewer independently.
Our Editorial Take
Gevi’s ownership advantage is integration around a serious 58mm workflow. The tradeoff is that grinder care, puck technique and manual milk all remain visible parts of the morning, inside one appliance rather than two.
